COD:Mobile get two new characters

Call of Duty: Mobile Gets Two Characters from Black Ops:-

Call of Duty: Mobile is adding two characters from the Black Ops series. The first character is Black Ops 2’s David “Section” Mason, who is the son of Alex Mason, and the second one is Reaper, an experimental war robot from Black Ops 3. Both of these characters can be unlocked via Season 5’s Battle Pass from April 1.

Call of Duty: Mobile’s newest season, titled Steel Legion, brings a new map, two game modes, and weapons. The new game modes include Gun Game: Team Fight and 2v2 Showdown. Gun Game: Team Fight is a combination of TDM and Gun Game. Players will be able to progress their weapons by getting kills or two assists and the first team to get 60 kills or a knife kill in the last stage wins.

In 2v2 Showdown, teams will get random weapon loadouts that will change every 2 rounds and single round respawn and health regen have been disabled. The first team to get 6 round wins will be victorious. Along with these, Call of Duty: Mobile is getting new map called Meltdown, which is originally from Black Ops 2.

Affect of Coronavirus on PS5's Release

PS5's Release Shouldn't Be Affected By Coronavirus, Sony Says

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic isn't expected to affect the PS5's launch date, according to Sony.
Despite the coronavirus (COVID-19) affecting its projected profits, Sony still expects the PS5 to launch this holiday season.
Speaking with Bloomberg, a Sony spokesperson said there won't be, as Bloomberg puts it, a "notable impact on the launch" of PlayStation 5 later this year. Other facets of the company's business are expecting slashed profits. Compared to its financial forecast back in February, Sony's profits are likely to be about $370 million lower.
It's possible upcoming first-party PS4 games could be affected by the pandemic, as Sony's Chinese manufacturing centers were shut down for weeks as the outbreak was being managed. At this point, there are no announced delays, with The Last of Us Part 2 arriving in May and Ghost of Tsushima releasing in June.
"Although no issues have emerged so far, Sony is carefully monitoring the risk of delays in production schedules for game software titles at both its first-party studios and partner studios, primarily in Europe and the U.S.," Sony said in a statement.
However, many of Sony's employees are now working from home and a portion of its offices are closed.
"In accordance with mandates from national and local governments, Sony has closed a portion of its offices, mainly in Europe and the U.S., where employees are now working from home," Sony said in a statement. "Additionally, at Sony’s offices in Japan and other areas, employees must work from home, excluding a small number of essential employees."
Capcom could experience difficulties with physical games and collector's editions for Resident Evil 3 in Europe, warning the region could see delays past its April 3 launch date. Square Enix warned of something similar with Final Fantasy VII Remake, with Europe, Australia, and the Americas all potentially affected by the pandemic. The long-delayed game is a PS4 exclusive.
Digital versions shouldn't be affected, but PlayStation Network download speeds have been reduced in Europe and the United States in order to ensure internet reliability.
The PS5's launch window is more important for Sony than an individual game because it will be competing directly with Microsoft's Xbox Series X, which also has not announced any sort of release delay yet. Sony released the PS2 about a year before the original Xbox, and Microsoft flipped the script in part by launching Xbox 360 a year before PS3. Both the PS4 and Xbox One launched during the same period.

Nevada approves CS:GO esports

Nevada approves CS:GO esports bets for the first time in landmark decision

In a landmark decision, the state of Nevada has approved sports betting operators to take on esports bets for CS:GO. William Hill, the first Las Vegas sportsbook to adopt esports betting, released the odds for its first two eligible esports matches earlier Thursday.
Both matches take place in the ESL Proleague, which is broadcast on streaming websites YouTube and Twitch.
In the opening match, 100 Thieves (-500) opened as heavy favorites against amateur side Swole Patrol (+375). 100 Thieves, primarily made of top players from Australia, are currently ranked No. 9 in the HLTV world rankings.
Following that game, North America's top team, Team Liquid (-335), faces off with Made in Brazil (+275). Team Liquid sits at No. 6 in the HLTV world rankings as MIBR currently stand as No. 25.
This move to allow more esports betting comes following a majority of the traditional sports leagues in North America suspending play due to the global coronavirus outbreak. Along with the lack of sports betting, all MGM casinos were closed last week in an attempt to lessen the number of large public gatherings.
While new to the United States, esports betting in Europe has become a staple, with numerous gaming titles available to be wagered on from various tournaments around the world. Previously, New Jersey did test esports betting in its market, with the 2019 League of Legends World Championship final being the only esports event it took action on.

League of Legends

A look back at the greatest League of Legends tournament of all time

The greatest tournament in League of Legends history didn't happen at one of developer Riot Games' world championship events, but was hosted by IGN in Las Vegas. Storylines and narratives for future faces of League of Legends esports were born, game knowledge was freely shared across regional lines, and 6 million unique viewers tuned in to the entirety of the IPL tournament, surprisingly close to the 8.2 million who tuned into the League of Legends world championship that same year. It's a pittance compared to the 100 million of Riot's 2019 League of Legends World Championship, but was a harbinger of what was to come for LoL and esports.
On Nov. 29, 2012, the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas was rated as "The Best Hotel in the World." That same day, the Cosmopolitan hosted IGN's ProLeague 5 gaming tournament, featuring StarCraft II and League of Legends. After three grueling days of group and double-elimination tournament play, Team World Elite and their cunning sixth man, coach Ji "Aaron" Xing, were crowned victorious in the League of Legends tournament.
Viewers didn't know it at the time, but IPL 5 was the end of an era, a sunset on individually-organized international tournaments, with the dawn of the LCS on the horizon.
In August 2012, when IPL 5 regional qualifiers were in full swing, Riot Games announced the creation of a League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) for North America and Europe, beginning in 2013. The idea was that both LCS leagues would act as challenges on par with South Korea's Champions tournament, allowing all regions to rise in strength separately.
South Korea's OnGameNet had run the Champions tournaments throughout 2012 and they quickly became the premier LoL esports competitions. Chinese, European, and North American teams were invited alongside domestic South Korean teams. While teams were separated by region previously, it was due to location more than anything else. The arrival of the European LCS, North American LCS, and China's LoL Pro League in 2013 drew these lines more firmly.
With the two LCS leagues in the near future, the LPL, and Southeast Asia's Garena Pro League, LoL esports were headed toward a series of entirely separate tournaments with only the world championship and a few Intel Extreme Masters events to unite them on an international stage. These, like IGN's IPL itself, faded as Riot took firmer control of their own regional leagues and league structures. IPL 5 arrived in the twilight of the open era, marking an end to the early days of competitive LoL.
Now, teams meet only for the Mid-Season Invitational (created by Riot in 2015 after a plea from the community for more international events) and the League of Legends World Championship.
The gameplay seen at IPL 5 is nowhere near the level of understanding that we have in 2020, or even that we had two years following IPL 5 at the start of 2015. League of Legends analysis was still in its infancy in 2012. Yet, the teams and players at IPL 5 showcased a stronger understanding of the game at that point in time than any other teams in the world. Many of them would later go on to pioneer individual position play or macro game strategies that are now basic knowledge that nearly every player, even a casual fan, will know.
In China, Team WE was known as the "smart team" compared to the recklessness of rival organization Invictus Gaming. AD carry Gao "WeiXiao" Xue-Cheng was a pioneer of his role, setting an example for AD carries around the world to follow.
Team WE had a stronger understanding of side lane pressure and split pushing, largely thanks to their coach, Aaron, who had gone to South Korea to learn from Champions teams. WE's understanding of minion waves was taken a step further in 2013 by CJ Entus Blaze (Azubu Blaze at the time of IPL 5) and their "sixth man" minion push strategy. This strategy relied on freezing minion waves so they would build up and push side lanes for the team as if a champion was also pushing the wave. It's now common knowledge at even the lowest levels.
While IPL 5 wasn't the pinnacle of League of Legends at its finest, it was without a doubt a gathering of the smartest and best teams in the world at that time. Their influence on each other helped build a foundation of macro game understanding in League of Legends that holds up to this day.
This specific timing in LoL history -- immediately before LCS as the LoL player base was growing exponentially -- combined with multiple gaffes at the Season 2 League of Legends World Championship gave IPL 5 more weight as a premier international event than it would have had otherwise.
A month and a half before IPL 5, Riot's Season 2 Worlds was fraught with technical issues. Due to the stage setup, the entirety of the map was visible to certain players, providing information that they wouldn't have had in game. Five matches had official rule violations and Azubu Frost's match against Team SoloMid was impacted directly, although the eventual outcome was not affected. Hours-long technical delays occurred during the Counter Logic Gaming Europe and Team WE quarterfinals, with players disconnecting from the game. The worlds tournament structure also came under scrutiny as it included round-robin single-game group play with a single-elimination playoff bracket, giving teams less time to adapt and making it less likely that the winner had to face the strongest teams. Since there were five first seeds and only four byes into quarterfinals, a team was chosen at random -- this ended up being Azubu Frost, who razed through their group undefeated -- to forgo a bye and go through the group stage.
Part of IPL 5's lasting legacy comes from the strength of its format and the idea that the best teams in the world at that time truly were meeting in a double-elimination tournament. IPL 5 had multiple qualifiers across multiple regions, and only one team was invited to the tournament: IPL 4 champion Team SoloMid. IPL 5 was the first premier tournament following the world championship, and the double-elimination setup allowed for an event that was rich with storylines as top teams from all around the world met each other and, in certain cases, played each other multiple times. Team WE avenged their early Worlds exit against CLG.EU by beating them at IPL 5 in a series that included a game that was over an hour long. At the time, people called it one of the best LoL matches they had ever seen.
This format allowed for a team like Fnatic to have a miraculous tournament run off the backs of top laner Paul "sOAZ" Boyer, mid laner Enrique "xPeke" Cedeño Martínez, and new addition Martin "Rekkles" Larsson. Although a different Fnatic roster had won the Season 1 Championship, the game had evolved significantly since then, and the strongest team in Europe was Moscow Five. Fnatic didn't even qualify for the Season 2 World Championship.
Rekkles was arguably the star of this tournament, holding his own against WE's own WeiXiao. IPL 5 gave Rekkles an early career spotlight, a year before he would become age-eligible to play in the new EU LCS league, and established Fnatic as one of the best teams in the world at this specific point in history.

COD league moving to online

Call of Duty League coaches poll: Teams preparing to move online

This weekend was setting up perfectly for the Dallas Empire. After winning the Los Angeles homestand, the Empire were going to host the next homestand with a chance to win one in front of their hometown fans.
Instead, like every other major esports league, the Call of Duty League will be moving competition online as a result of the coronavirus. Despite the disruption in competition format, teams are still scrimming, and you can see the result of the latest coaches poll below.
Some coaches claim there won't be much of an adjustment to moving play online.
"I would say for our team it's business as usual," FaZe assistant coach Richard "RJ" Simoncelli said. "We're going to sit here and do our usual routine whether it's online or LAN, and as much as people want to act like it's a major difference, the fact is the results you see online mostly always reflect what happens on LAN whether other teams want to admit it or not."
Others recognized that their teams will have to adjust their approaches.
"Simply put, it is a mental adjustment for me as their coach and for the players knowing that there won't be a LAN tournament or match in the near future," OpTic Gaming head coach Jonathan Tucker said. "Usually teams can lose to lesser teams online but use it as a learning experience and keep on pushing. Currently we have to get past that mental hump and work to be the best online as that's where the competition is going to be held."
The issue of competitive fairness was something that multiple coaches brought up.
"Obviously there are a few worries with it being online when it comes to connection and 'fairness,' but i'm sure AB will work out the best solution for competitive integrity," London assistant coach James Batz said.
"The obvious challenge with the format is how the league is going to make it as fair as possible for all of the teams competing," Tucker said. "Certain teams just simply do have geographical advantage and will have less latency issues than the rest of the field."
We've seen emotions run high when competitive fairness issues have come up in the past, from Patrick "ACHES" Prices' complaints about a banned perk that cost the Guerrillas a map and scheduling issues to Ian "Crimsix" Porter's rant about a patch Infinity Ward dropped. The Empire's coach acknowledged that players will have to stay calm amid issues that might pop up online.
"The real challenge will be temperament on the player attitude towards the issues of what online brings," Rambo said. "Even in the best online environment, there's always some element of advantage for certain players/teams, so it's going to be important for our players to stay cool and focus on the task at hand even if the playing field isn't in our favor."
Without further ado, here's how coaches around the Call of Duty League think the teams stack up. The ranking was determined based on an aggregate of votes from participating coaches.

PUBG 3rd Anniversary Announcement

PUBG 3rd Anniversary Announcement

On March 23rd, PUBG is officially 3 years old! 2019 was in a lot of ways a year of taking risks for us. Reworking a beloved map like Erangel required a lot of love and care to get right, but we’re pleased that many of you are happy with the result. We also introduced our smallest map to date, Karakin, which brought a new intensity to PUBG’s brand of Battle Royale.

To help navigate these new and reworked maps, we improved our movements systems to allow for climbing and ledge grabs, greatly increasing the tactical options available to players. And speaking of tactical, 2019’s Weapon Mastery system allowed you to track your progress with the extensive PUBG arsenal for Weapon Charms and bragging points.

While there was plenty new, we saw 2019 as a year of building a foundation for PUBG. Going forward, we want to continue to improve upon what’s made PUBG so popular these last 3 years. This will include map reworks, new maps, new weapons & mechanics, additional game options such as Arcade’s Team Deathmatch, and of course quality of life improvements & bug fixes for some of your most pressing issues.

The first of those reworks has already been talked about! Thanks to the help of our PUBG Partners, you all got a first look at the updated Vikendi. We’re pouring over your data and feedback from the test to get it polished up before the train leaves the station. We want each new and reworked map to bring an entirely new experience to you all with fun and exciting new mechanics, so a big thank you to everyone in our community who tested it out and sent in your feedback.

Community is the backbone of any online game and as such celebrating our 3rd year also means celebrating you. This is why we recently ran our first ever Community Skin Design Contest in which members of the PUBG Community from all around the world submitted their own skin designs to be voted on by you.

The winners of this contest had their designs created and they will be available to all PC and Console players for free during this celebration. Details on the winners can be found below!

PUBG has come a long way since March of 2017 and we fully understand that there is still much to do, but it is because of all of you that we’ve been able to take our little game and grow it into one of the biggest games of all time. We know an achievement like this comes with a big responsibility to you all and we’re working hard this year to do better.

We hope to share these efforts and our plans for 2020 soon but for now let us thank you once again for being a part of this incredible journey. From all of us here at PUBG to all of you around the world, happy 3rd anniversary!

Animal Crossing breaks the sales record.

Animal Crossing sees record-breaking sales, debut at the top of UK chart:-

I don't think anyone wasn't expecting Nintendo's colourful communal title Animal Crossing: New Horizons to be a success, but the reality is even more surprising, as the long-awaited Switch release is absolutely killing it in sales, debuting at number one in the UK charts.
New Horizons has sold more copies in its first week of launch than the launch sales of all previous Animal Crossing-branded games combined. New Horizons is also the biggest launch game in Nintendo Switch history (if you don't combine the sales of both Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield as one release).
Here in the U.K., this success has seen New Horizons debut at the top of the UK Charts, leading the Top Ten's first major shakeup in months. New Horizons is followed by another new entry, Bethesda's gut-churning Doom Eternal, which also burst onto the scene, ultimately landing at number two.
Activision's Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled also re-entered the Top Ten at numbers seven and nine respectively. Microsoft race Forza Horizon 4 appears at number eight, while Take 2's wild-west sequel Red Dead Redemption 2 moseyed back into town at number ten. Last week's number one, Sony's Nioh 2, has already left the Top Ten, as has Nintendo's Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX.

U.K. video game sales chart :
1. Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo
2. Doom Eternal - Bethesda
3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Activision
4. FIFA 20 - Electronic Arts
5. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Nintendo
6Grand Theft Auto V - Take 2
7. Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy - Activision
8. Forza Horizon 4 - Microsoft
9. Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled - Activision
10. Red Dead Redemption 2

NBA suspending it's season

The NBA suspending it's season is causing NBA 2K20 to crash

Here's some unexpected collateral damage from the coronavirus pandemic: NBA 2K20 is endlessly simulating games until it eventually crashes under the strain of its own processing.
Let's rewind and explain. Last night, the NBA indefinitely suspended its season because of the coronavirus outbreak. Rudy Gobert, a player for the Utah Jazz, tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday. Shortly after, one of Gobert's teammates also tested positive. Given that coronavirus leaves victims asymptomatic during its incubation period, it's likely that the Jazz played multiple games while its players have been infected.
The dominoes of sports in the US have fallen quickly. The NHL similarly suspended its season today. It's worth noting that the NBA and NHL share a lot of facilities across North America, so an outbreak among one player base could affect both leagues. MLB also suspended operations for the time being. The NCAA canceled its basketball tournaments. Sports in the United States basically don't exist right now.
That, evidently, extends to video games. With the NBA suspending the season, NBA 2K20 doesn't know how to interpret that previously scheduled games aren't on the schedule anymore. The culprit is the NBA Today mode which lets you start a new franchise mode from the exact day it is in real-life. However, when starting it up, NBA Today tries to simulate games that don't exist, sending it into a spiral that ends up with the game crashing.
NBA 2K20's predicament is one that no one could predict. Why would a developer safeguard something into their game in the extremely unlikely event of a season being canceled because of a global virus outbreak? Anyway, it'll probably be patched soon, but that doesn't mean there will be games to simulate.

Make Money in Animal Crossing

How To Make Money In Animal Crossing: New Horizons:

The early game
New Horizons starts out with a slightly different proposition: You don’t pay off your initial travel expenses with bells (Animal Crossing’s currency). Instead, you redeem Nook Miles at a kiosk in his tent. These miles can be earned by completing challenges, which are highlighted on your new phone. This portion of the game is quite self-explanatory. You’re essentially rewarded for nearly everything, and the miles will come pouring in. There are several simple ones that require virtually no effort, too. Do these if you’re looking for some easy ways to earn miles in the beginning that may not be quite so obvious.
           - Make a post on the town’s bulletin board, which should be right by Nook’s tent.
           - Use your phone’s camera to take a picture. It doesn’t matter what you snap.
           - Go into your passport, add a quote and a custom title.
Moving right along
All right. Once you pay off your first debt to Mr. Nook, he offers you a home upgrade. You may as well take him up on the offer, since tent life is not an ideal permanent solution. At that point, we switch over to the more familiar denomination. You still earn miles for completing challenges, but your debt can only be resolved with fat sacks of those precious bells. Like Nook Miles, there are loads of different ways to earn bells. Some are more lucrative than others. Here are some of the things you should be prioritizing if you want to live debt-free ASAP.

Foraging for fruit
Selling fruit is an easy way to make bells in New Horizons’ early hours. You don’t need any special equipment; simply shake a tree and the fruit will fall. Bring that fruit to Nook’s nephews, and they take it off your hands in exchange for bells. Easy enough. The problem is, you don’t get much for your efforts. Earning 100 bells for each piece of native fruit is nice at first, but you quickly outgrow it. It’s time to branch out!
New Horizons lets you charter a plane to a randomized island, starting on the second day after you begin the game. Tom Nook gives you a free ticket when the option is made available, and you can redeem 2,000 Nook Miles at his kiosk to purchase additional tickets. I wouldn’t go all-in on these tickets, but it’s not a bad idea to buy a few; things like pocket organizers (which allow you to carry more items) and the item wheel should take priority, though.
Go to your island’s airport, and tell the dodo at the counter that you want to fly. Follow the instructions, and use one of your tickets. Now cross your fingers.
If you’re lucky, you’ll arrive at an island that has a different type of fruit from your home base. The potential fruits are apples, cherries, oranges, peaches, and pears. You can also find coconuts on these remote islands. Did you find a new fruit? Great! Bring it back home and plant it (dig a hole and then bury the fruit in it). After a few days, you have a new fruit-bearing tree that produces a more lucrative harvest; the non-native fruits can be sold for 500 bells a pop. Since each tree bears three fruits simultaneously, you’re looking at a fairly significant upgrade over what you started with – 1,500 versus 300.
Coconuts are a little different. They’re only worth 250, the trees only produce two coconuts at a time, and the trees have to be planted on the beach. They’re a nice visual upgrade for your shores, but don’t think of them as investments.
It's also a great idea to talk to your friends and see what fruits they've discovered. Visit their island, either via local co-op or online, and you can trade.

Resident Evils 3 Brings Back

Resident Evil 3 Brings Back The Knife Run

A successful knife run is challenging and requires an intimate knowledge of the Resident Evil game being attempted. Unfortunately, knife runs were basically impossible in the remake of Resident Evil 2 because knives in that game would break. This was because knives were used as a defensive weapon that would prevent zombies from biting you. Some would argue that this made knives more valuable, but it had the unfortunate consequence of killing the knife run.

“We kept the knife inexhaustible [in Resident Evil 3], so you can use it forever,” says producer Peter Fabiano. “We're dealing with survival horror and everything is exhaustible. You run out of bullets. You run out of herbs. You run out of all the items you can use. So if you did run out of everything, what would you have? The knife. The director always wanted to make it so that you at least have your trusty knife. That’s always something you can rely on.”

Capcom went on to clarify that they are aware that hardcore fans like challenging themselves to knife-only runs, and that it has tested knife-only playthroughs in the office. The studio says that it's not easy, but some members on the team have completed the remake of Resident Evil 3 with only a knife.

PMPL South Asia 2020 Day-3 Postponed

PMPL South Asia 2020 postponed due to Janta Curfew:

  • PUBG Mobile has rescheduled the Day 3 of PMPL South Asia to 23rd March.

GTA 4 is back on Steam

Grand Theft Auto 4 is back on Steam and has been upgraded to the Complete Edition

As Rockstar announced last month, Grand Theft Auto 4 has returned to Steam, absent online components thanks to the removal of Games for Windows Live. The good news is that if you owned either GTA 4 or Liberty City Stories, you now own the Complete Edition, featuring the base game and the standlone DLC.

he other versions were replaced by the Complete Edition yesterday, but save files are compatible if you had a game in progress. You won't be able to hop into the multiplayer mode, however, which has been removed along with online leaderboards. RamJam FM, Self-Actualization FM and Vice City FM have also been taken out of the roster of radio stations.

Next week, on March 24, the Complete Edition will be available for purchase on Steam and the Rockstar Games Launcher, but right now it's only available to players who already own the other versions on Steam. If you've got CD key, you'll also be able to redeem it in the launcher. Come April, anyone who picked up GTA 4 or the standalone DLC via GfWL will also be able to link their Social Club account and play again, this time via the Rockstar Games Launcher.

Affect of COVID -19 on Worldwide Gaming Event

Covid-19 and the Game Industry: News Round-up

About E-3
As the Covid-9 Coronavirus continues its spread and has hit pandemic level, there has been a growing impact on the game industry. The game sector’s problems, of course, are trivial compared to the millions impacted and the potential danger to millions more across the world.  However, the earlier Taipei Game Show and Mobile World Congress were previously cancelled amidst concerns around the virus, the potential arrival of the next-generation consoles may – or may not – have been affected, and a number of high profile companies are minimising their attendance of major industry conferences.
Indeed, it can be hard to keep up, such is the reach not just of covid-19 itself, but its impact on numerous infrastructures and ecosystems.
As such, this story will be regularly updated with any news around the impact of covid-19 on the game industry, be it events, releases, manufacturing, supply chain, or other factors.

Events impacted by covid-19 novel coronavirus:

• GDC 2020 has been postponed, with the organisers looking to host some form of the event later in the year. According to an official statement from the GDC team: “As everyone has been reminding us, great things happen when the community comes together and connects at GDC. For this reason, we fully intend to host a GDC event later in the summer. We will be working with our partners to finalise the details and will share more information about our plans in the coming weeks.
GDC’s organisers are now streaming talks and sessions intended to take place live during the conference as prerecords, for free on Twitch.
•  The UK’s EGX Rezzed conference, which welcomes consumers and industry, with a view to bringing the to together while focusing to a degree on indie games, has been postponed. The 2020 Video Game BAFTAs, which are aligned to EGX Rezzed, had already moved to digital only.
•  The Reboot Develop Blue event in Dubrovnik has been postponed, with a new start date of October 15th 2020 planned.
•   Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) has pivoted to become a virtual event.
•   Polish game industry conference Digital Dragons has now been postponed until September.
•  An alternative event to GDC, the PLAN B Project, is being organised by the industry to take place in San Francisco, during the dates that GDC was scheduled to take place.

COD League shifts to online due to COVID-19

Call of Duty League shifts to online-only events due to coronavirus

Activision Blizzard announced that the Call of Duty League will shift to an online-only competition, shedding the in-person events because of the coronavirus.
The fear of COVID-19 is taking its toll on esports events held in live venues, where there are risks of the virus spreading from person to person. Yesterday, Activision Blizzard’s Overwatch League also announced that it would cancel all events in March and April over the same concerns.
And earlier today, PUBG Mobile events were also shifted to online events with no live audiences.
Here’s the announcement:
The health and safety of employees, fans, players, teams, and partners is paramount to Activision Blizzard Esports.
We are continuing to closely monitor COVID-19 (coronavirus), city-level recommendations and mandates, and all guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
After careful review and working in close collaboration with our teams, we are shifting all currently scheduled 2020 Call of Duty League live events to online-only competition, effective immediately. For details on previously ticketed events, please visit host team websites and follow their social channels.
The new online-only matches will be broadcast live to fans. Dates will be announced shortly, along with tune-in details.
Call of Duty League has seen firsthand the power of our live events in our inaugural season, and will return to city-based competition in front of live audiences as soon as it is safe and logistically possible.
In the interim, Call of Duty League is confident it will continue to deliver fans what they want: amazing competition between the best players, competing at the highest level, for the right to be considered the greatest team on earth.

TOP PLAYERS

SynerGE and TSM Entity, two of the directly qualified squads have an inarguably strong player lineup with impressive stats as well as perfect shot-calling in-game. These rosters dedicated time with their respective rosters while the rest of the pack was fighting their way up through the group and final stages of PMCO. A player worth mentioning is Team Tamilas’ MantyOP who brought top tier teams to their knees with his perfect sense of rotations and aim set on the head during team fights.

ANALYSIS

The day couldn’t have been more interesting with TSM Entity refusing to step down from the #1 spot of the table. Team Soul pulled off a chicken dinner in match 2 with a total of 15 kills as Viper, one of their founding members exhibited ace level gameplay. Team Orange Rock, a team from which fans had high expectations from did not have a great time as they consecutively underperformed and took early exits in each match. UMumba, the underdog squad shut all mouths with their performance in match 3 where they bagged a win with their perfectly coordinated gameplay. Team Godlike and Xtreme from Group E played their first match and managed to make it to the final circle in a faceoff. Team Xtreme bagged the win but Godlike established themselves as serious contenders. Team SynerGE seems to have a gift in Seervi as he continuously carried the team on his shoulders and had his fair share of moments throughout the day. Team Tamilas, the underdog stars of PMCO regionals gave some serious competition to top tier squads and MantyOP took the fight head-on with teams like Soul, Fnatic as well as TSM Entity.
As day 1 comes to an end, we have a basic picture of what the teams plan to bring to the table. TSM Entity, SynerGE, Team Xtreme and Fnatic have proved themselves early on in the game while veteran squads like Orange Rock and Marcos Gaming still have a lot of proving to do. The league stage continues for another 4 days and the fight for the $200,000 prize pool.
